Again. Yay!!!
It has been way too long since my last post, but there has been some crazy stuff going on here. I was offered a job as a Food and Beverage Assistant for the Nashville Symphony recently and I accepted. Today was my first day and although I feel I have a lot of little things to learn and was met with some inital akwardness as the "new" girl, I think it will be a really interesting position. It is mostly a Mon-Fri day job, with some weekend nights here and there. And I get my own little desk and computer and phone line...it's like I am almost a real adult with important responsibilities! Who knew?! I will keep y'all posted on what I actually do on a day to day basis once I know what that is :)
Marcus has been training at his new job as a manager for Bonefish Grille for about a week and is doing well. His training period lasts 14 weeks, so he has quite a bit left, but he is so good at this stuff I don't think it will be very difficult for him.
It feels really good to have a daily schedule again and I think both Marcus and myself are happy to be getting into some sort of routine. Things have been rough here, what with trying to get settled and not knowing what exactly to expect from people and our sorroundings. I definitely look forward to exploring the city more once we get settled in out jobs and get some moola. Wahoo Nashville!
I guess that is all for now. Take care, bye for now~

It's about that time..
TO MOVE! Yay!
Right now, I am sitting in the middle of an empty room -- typing on the floor -- because our apartment in officially empty. Marcus and I spent all afternoon yesterday and this morning packing our big truck and carrying stuff up and down three flights of stairs. Ughh, talk about tiring. But it is all finished now and all we have to do is pack my car and hit the road!
Other than that, today we are going to run some last minute errands, go out to dinner and celebrate at our favorite sports bar with our friends one last time.
Can't wait to see everyone. Love ya!

I get by with a little help from my friends
My time here in Michigan is winding down and I am finally fully feeling the effects of not having my best friends close by anymore. Keely and Ashley, like sisters to me, have both moved out to California and I am left wondering when I will get a chance to see them again. Not soon enough, that is for sure-- but I have already researched flight options for the next 4 months to visit them. A tad premature perhaps, but oh well. I have known Keely since my first semester of college and Ashley almost as long, so it is VERY weird not having them around. And unfortunately, I still have more goodbyes to endure over the next week.
These pics are from my freshman year of college to the present of Ashley, Keely and I. Ahh, memories.....
Love you girls xoxox

Brunette is the new Blonde
After determining that two inches of growth is way too visible when you have eight different shades of blonde highlights, I made a trip Thursday to the salon to have my hair done (or perhaps fixed is the more appropriate term). I decided the best option was to do all-over color--for the first time in my life I might add-- and chose a dark brown shade close to my natural haircolor. The process took almost four hours, including blowdrying and straightening, and now I am again a brunette......or brunette/redhead. I think it looks red, but that might just be because I haven't gotten used to it yet nor have I decided whether I like it completely.
Other than that, I have two more shifts of work and then I am done and ready to finish up packing and saying goodbye to my friends....Nashville here I come!
Hope all is well with you~
Much love xoxox

It's Elvis Sunday!?
It's been a low-key rainy day here with not much exciting to report. I do, however, have one funny story to share...
Marcus and I have a Sunday ritual of going out to brunch and trying to find new places in the city to check out their brunch options. Today, we opted for the Northside Grill, a tiny diner housed in an old storefront that is usually packed with people. When we arrived, much to our surprise, we learned that this particular day was ELVIS SUNDAY -- which meant a well-known Elvis impersonator would be performing in the middle of the restaurant throughout the
morning. In keeping with the theme, we ordered off the King's menu...Banana pancakes with peanut butter for Marcus and the Blue Hawaii omellette for myself (both very yummy!)
This occurrence is even more hilarious because, as most of you all know, I am a huge Elvis fan. I mean really, what are the odds?

Thank Goodness It's Friday
First off, the picture above IS a photo of my new house in Nashville. Of course, I will have many more when I actually see the place in person. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with a 2 car garage, large backyard and patio. The garage will come in handy when I finally buy my dream car -- mustang convertible here is come :)
Yesterday was our day off and Marcus and I certainly took advantage of the free time. I got to go to the Y and swim for the first time in a while (for me, swimming laps it is one of the most relaxing things ) and then we drove to the Novi, Michigan mall to go shopping. Did a lot of browsing, but not much purchasing, which is good. Then we ordered Chinese take out and gorged ourselves.....sounds like a great night to me!
Not much happened today, but then again, I spent over 12 hours inside the Real Seafood Company's doors. Good thing I made some money today... I have also begun my countdown to my last day at the restaurant ----- only 10 shifts left!
Most importantly, however, Marcus and I have nailed down our moving date. We will pack up the truck and leave Ann Arbor on Sat, Aug. 31st. We plan on stopping off in Dayton/Cincinnati until the 4th, which is the earliest we can move in. I would love to hear from everyone about their availability so we can plan visits during those few days!
And now a glass of Reisling is calling my name, so until next time, much love xoxox
